• Promoting positive relationships marked by respect, trust and cooperation among communities, groups and individuals
 
• Fostering mutual understanding and awareness of the presence and value of diversity
 
• Referring complaints of discrimination to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and other agencies
 
• Ensuring proper reporting of hate crimes and community tension incidents
 
• Highlighting, through public recognition, individuals and groups providing leadership in areas of human relations
 
• Working with area organizations to create and promote community events focusing on the celebration of diversity
